I sometimes laugh if something isn't funny to me but I can see that the joke teller's intention was for it to be humorous. This is typically around friends.

My genuine laughs are few and far between. However, I understand humor enough to make NTs laugh, and it helps me fit in - so whatever works I guess.

It's true, we have no sense of humour whatsoever, I even watched a whole episode of Family Guy and didn't laugh once

LOL. You're spot on about one thing, Family Guy isn't funny.

I have great sense of humor which is far superior than that of NTs but in the past I used to have goofy type of humor. We have a social brain of a new born, trust me, and if we act goofy we do nothing but abase ourself. So it is my advice to every aspie to be very careful with your humor and be serious among people who do not belong to your cohort, elders and strangers. If you want to be goofy then be so with those who are your very close friends, siblings, family members because they would have accepted your eccentricities.

There is saying, a person's laugh is like a horse's neighing if he has not felt enough. There are lots and lots of neighing NT people around. Asperger's, ASDs, PDDs feel more inside, they can take out those feeling more rarely. Of course, they will laugh at more high quality jokes, then. But, when they laugh, it will be really worth it. My son is not NT, I am supposed to be NT. May be I am not :?

False. I have a good sense of humor, I think. I can easily make my friends laugh. Very spontaneous, sarcastic and sometimes exceedingly dark and yet, ridiculously silly. Yeah, even my sense of humor contradicts itself.

Hmmm ... humor simultaneously dark and sill. Like zombies bowling with their heads with garden gnomes for the pins?

i had to learn to find humor to save my life. laughing beats crying anyday. but my humor [what i am driven to laugh at] is [almost] never at anyone else's expense. a lot of it concerns my own foibles.

Yeah, your description is a lot better than mine. Deadpool-like humor also fits, now that I think about it... :D

They say the test of your sense of humour is how you react when someone says "You have no sense of humour !"

I'd like to think if someone said that to me,I'd just laugh it off :)

Same here.

I like 'Gallow's humour' I think it might be sometimes called. My four siblings and I all have bone dry, playfully sardonic wit. Even my younger brother, who has cerebral palsy and more 'severe' autism than me, can be extremely sarcastic and quick witted. It was either that or go completely crazy - toxic home environment (alcoholism) blah blah blah.

None of the things normal people find funny amuse me.

I only have gallows humour and a sense of surrealism. I'm especially immune to slapstick.

So if I hit you with a cream pie it won't stick to your face?

I like the third one, I like adding numbers in my head and floating diagrams around, I totally space out and only come back when I sense there is dead silence, usually because I'm absentmindedly petting my arm or tapping my ear and don't realize it as I was thinking.
