Depends. I only stim when I upset and my meltdown triggers are not sensory triggers, so often when I go out, there will be no triggers.

legs vibrate up and down, usually one at a time, occasionaly both, subtle rocking.
They arn't very noticible so I do them in public at will, particulary if im sitting down at a table since my legs arn't visible, although the people I'm sitting with can sometimes feel the vibrations in the table from my legs.

I've been watching a video what my uncle taped of us when we were on holiday. I was 13 years old at the time, and I noticed I kept fiddling with my fingers constantly when I was out and about. I think that is a form of stimming. It didn't really notice too much, but I hope I didn't do it when I was at school. I don't seem to remember doing this. I know I don't stim now, because I have got more self-aware - in fact I've got so extremely self-aware than sometimes when I'm out in public I'm afraid to move.

Is pacing back and forth a stim?

I pace constantly and I often do it outside in my back yard. I find it relaxing and soothing. I'm sure the neighbors must see me doing it, but I don't care.

Yes, almost all the time. I can't make a list of all the things I do as it would be too long.

I keep catching myself rocking (gently) around others. No one has ever said anything or looked at me weirdly when this happened so I take it they didn't notice. I don't know.

Sometimes. My most common stim is rubbing certain types of fabric between my thumb and index finger. Mostly I do this at home, but I do have a piece of fabric I keep with me in my pocket and if no ones around I will take it out.

I do this! And have always done it! Only I call the material (even though its not always the exact same piece it has the same feel) that I rub my 'tickle' (named as such as a young child and the name stuck. I was not aware if it was a stim or not and was actually going to ask if it counted as stimming or if it was just an odd habit I have always had. I am not diagnosed with ASD and am diagnosed with Social Anxiety and Agoraphobia etc so I just thought I was strange...

I also carry a piece of it in my pocket and rub it in public.
