The majority of the time, I'm lucky enough to have only mild sensory problems that can be solved with soft clothing and noise cancelling headphones. I have never even experienced a sensory meltdown, but I came close many times. However, my mom has this talent for getting me angry. When this happens I can't even stand the feel of my sweatpants on my legs and I have to hold my arms so that they don't touch my sides. Every little touch just bothers me so much more when I'm in that state. This also happens when I'm stressed.

So, does anyone else experience this type of hypersensitivity fluctuation?

I rarely get angry at anything, but people can annoy me. It seems like when that happens my sensory issues are multiplied, especially sounds.

Yes, when I am angry, my usual sensory overload issues go through the roof, so then I get angrier, and so on. A very vicious circle I'm struggling to manage.

Moreso when I'm tired... If I haven't gotten enough sleep, unwelcome noise irritates me to a far greater extent than normal.

Definitely, yes. I feel physically ill when I get angry. The last time I had that happen, I had to go take a long bath to stop myself from shaking.

Other than strong emotion, hunger and exhaustion also do it for me.

Luckily, I don't get angry very often!

it's the other way round. it is usually sensory issues that make me angry.

some days though seemingly at random they will be worse than others.
