Mine are dark dark dark brown, and I have an epicanthic fold as well, even though I'm almost completely Caucasian.

Just for the record though, I'm still not sure if I actually have AS or not, so I don't want to skew your study.

Wow! Heterochromia! Too cool! My boyfriend has that, but only part of one of his eyes is a different color.

Ethnicity? So the only option you have is you are clustering brown Vs coloured? and then run a t-test?
What significant pattern are you expecting to find?

oh....um....I have dark brown eyes

Blue-grey, changing to a darker blue on the edge of the iris.
As a toddler they were uniformly bright blue, so apparently I'm going monochrome. 8O

A team of scientists has tracked down a genetic mutation that leads to blue eyes. The mutation occurred between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago, so before then, there were no blue eyes.

Wow! I never would have guessed that it came about so recently! as a frame of reference, the oldest pottery found on earth is around 15,000 years old. So it means that people in Asia had ceramics classes before people in Europe had blue eyes. But heck! Mitochondrial DNA is a heck of a lot more reliable than autosomal in its mutation rate, and that seems to be what they used. I'd like to check out the original article later when I have more time. Interesting!

"The question really is, 'Why did we go from having nobody on Earth with blue eyes 10,000 years ago to having 20 or 40 percent of Europeans having blue eyes now?" Hawks said. "This gene does something good for people. It makes them have more kids."

Hahaha!

My eyes are mostly a grey blue but I have sectoral heterochromia of my right eye, it's like a copper colour for a section. Not that many people know, i don't do the eye contact thing that much.

Mine are green, so that's what I put. :D

Sound's like cool research. Eye color has a genetic basis and some people believe Austism Spectrum Disorders are caused by genetics. Neat connection.

If you find any correlation, let us know the results please!

my eyes are an unusual shade of blue, they are the color of the deep ocean, a dark blue, wth a touch of green.
Most people think that I have brown eyes because I have soft black hair and a pale olive complexion, but when they get close to me, they often say "OMG you have blues eyes! I never knew that!" Even one of my friends that I knew from high school untill my late 20's till she discovered that my eyes are blue when I was putting make-up on her. I have northern Irish genetics, just in case you were wondering for your study

I find it amazing how many people in the survey have blue eyes since blue is recesive.

My eyes are a dark blue in colour. I find it interesting that you are investigating the link between AS and eye colours as both are predominantly genetic.
