Hi just wondering if there are any Australian aspies on here that are getting the centrelink Disability support pension, because of their Aspergers dx? If so how long ago was it approved and how difficult was it to get?

I am. It was for two years and I was refused the first time but my psychiatrist sent them a letter and I got on it after that.
Actually the first time I didn't have an official diagnoses. My psychiatrist diagnosed me and then sent the letter. He actually recommended it because I was stressed about applying for ten jobs a fortnight and never getting an interview for one. He also recommends that I stay on it so I have to reapply when it runs out at the end of the year.

Being on disability takes the stress off. I can apply for jobs as slowly as I want. And I can apply to maybe two or three without losing my payment. The extra money helps too. I live at home and pay for some bills. I've offered my mum more money to help pay off the mortgage but she won't take it.
