My cat is morbidly obese.

While superficially cats may seem to lack social behavior, in fact close study reveals a wide repertoire of subtle behaviors, which serve cats in their natural wild setting where they form organized hierarchies, and in their domestic interactions with humans.

I got this from Wikipedia

LOL, I am always saying this about my cat as well! My cat is VERY shy, she only likes me and tends to be very skittish. She also hates change. When my family's other cat came home from the vet once with a new haircut, my cat hissed at her and wouldn't take it.

I think a lot of cats are like this, though, which just proves the point others here have said - cats are autistic dogs. :)

I have always preferred cats to dogs because they act just like I do!

Except I don't lick myself or fall asleep in the dirty laundry.

when my "silly" kitty is really happy, he stretches out his front paws and start "flapping" them... he stretches out his left one and clutches it... then does the same with the other... and goes back and forth and back and forth, clutching and extending each of his paws for minutes at a time... he's so cute

I obviously have a cat who has OCD, Social Anxiety, and Asperger's Syndrome.

She always wants things to be done the same way.

She washes herself allot and always on the same way.

She is always (I mean always) hungry, even when actually eating.

She keeps going in and out of the house when she feels so.

She is a loner and also tends to remain invisible.

She has no clue about interaction, even with our dog. Like she never looks you in the eye, and if this has to be her extremely good day. She doesn't want to be touched or held, only if she feels like it then she asks. She is fearful of people and some dogs. She tends to hide away or get into her world and ignore the situation. She is kind of confused all the time, like she doesn't know how to do things like reacting to something. She has a routine and gets confused when things are done differently. She doesn't really know about showing emotions and is quite aloof.

My other cats that I had, were like ADHD and dreamers. Always active, sociable, ADHD attention, smart, mischievous and naughty. I loved them. Sometimes they could stare at you, or just be there for you. Though they were always dooing something. They were allot like dogs, only that they had that cats individuality. That was the only difference. So there are huge differences even between cats. :D

My cat acts like an Aspie. She is friendly, and miaws a lot, yet still finds the same things hard as I do. Like when we had a family get-together in our garden (and invited about 40 people), my cat went mad. She kept miawing mournfully, and wouldn't go outside, and her ears stayed down the whole time. Although she likes people, too many frighten her.

Probably others have mentioned this before, but there's a book about it.. All cats have Asperger's and All dogs have ADHD. Hehe.

I read somewhere that aspies are like cats and NTs are like dogs. My solution - get a dog

Is this why I hate dogs so much?

Hmmm....maybe I have catsbergers. I never met a cat that I couldn't figure out. I've always ended up with the unadoptable head cases and they've been perfectly fine for me. Most four legged animals are totally transparent if you pay attention. It's the two legged kind that are usually the problem.

First of all like the other posts, that's is how cats are in general.

Second of all, LMAO

I'm really sorry but that's what I did when I saw the title of this thread

I am horribly bigoted. I don't think I could accept a cat who didn't have asperger's.
