(The title is me speaking to my crew of sailors aboard the landship Elvenone.)
I am leaving the city of Cordova in approximately 72 hours; at which time my crew aboard the landship Elvenone (namely my mum, dad and sis) will set sail for a temporary port off the coast of Lakeland. We will stay there for 5 months before setting full sail for our new port in the secluded but growing town of Arlington. We will not reach our destination in time for the new school year, but i will go to the high school in Arlington in the fall season. I will have to temporarily leave WP in the next two days as we load the shi[p with our possessions (and our computers). We will have internet access at our temporary site in Lakeland. So i will sign off for now, and i will contact everyone again when i reach my destination. Farewell.

Good sailing, break a leg, and don't let the s**t hit the fans! Er, something like that... TTFN!

But Cordova, TN, isn't a city. It's an area where the people there call it Cordova. In reality, about half of it is eaten up by Memphis and the other half unincorporated. In a few years, though, it will be all Memphis. I'm willing to bet Archmage is leaving to escape Memphis. I don't blame him!
さようなら!
I notice that more and more Cordovans are fleeing to Arlington. I heard that many teachers at Cordova H.S. fled to Arlington H.S. just before Cordova became a city school. This, I heard, was because of a gentleman's agreement in which Shelby County Schools will never hire anybody who's ever been a teacher in the Memphis City School System. All in all, Memphis has a very dysfunctional school system and Shelby County will only have a few schools left in its system! If those two systems ever become unified--well, I think it would be better to raise children in another county, maybe over in Fayette County.

Well, we've docked, and contrary to what i was told, we are still in Cordova, albeit being less than half a mile away from the Lakeland city limits. Still, it's a good ways away. A question for you Memphians: Remember the tornadoes we had last March? According to a friend of mine who lives here, a Class 0 twister blew through this very subdividsion
that day, while he was recording it with a video camera through the window of the Steak & Shake down Hwy. 64. Now that's scary!
I also happen to have the biggest room in the house! Lucky me!
