Do you agree?

First of all: Ingenius thoughts can seem crazy to NT's for instance, if you talked about "Albert Einstein's Warp-Drive" People have either told me "I don't care" or "You are screw-loose" Maybe intelligent people are only crazy to NT because they don't think like Aspies.

We have our own unique thinking way, isn't that neat: Who cares if they think we are crazy!

I think that it's their low intelligence that makes them think that.

I know that conversations with NT's go much better if I stick to pointless babble.

I've found out that I have trouble making small talk with a guy at work who actually does like me. Part of the disadvantage is because I feel so beat up that I can't think of things to say. At least the only beating that I am getting is because of the physical demands of the job. Everyone's nice and mannerly there, a refreshing change.

It's hard these days to get much intelligent conversation even with intelligent people. Even after having been on science forums this is the only place I've run into any sort of consistently intelligent conversation even if it isn't on technical matters.

Even revolutionary ideas are widely dismissed as lunacy.

Look how much resistance there was towards the thought that everything revolved around the Earth!

There will be resistance to everything that will buck people's view of their daily lives.

It can often times do that. Being crazy in addition to having a high intellect helps though. Really, given the fact I like challenging assumptions and things of that nature, it would not be surprising for me to be considered crazy.

It happens during class when the teacher asks a question about something I know a lot about, and I raise my hand and give the answer, and then I start going on and on about it. Sometimes I even start stimming because I'm so excited to talk about it.
That makes people think I'm a bit 'off'.

What kind of stim? I'm just curious.

You just need very good proof or a very large following if you want to prove something as acceptable *cough* .

Sometimes I think my intelligence gets the better of me since I tend to think things a little too critically, but perhaps it's just AS.

Many people think I'm crazy because, on certain subjects, I work far harder than necessary to get the grade. Many times I get bad grades because I get so into the subject that I can never turn things in on time; a 20 page paper becomes a 40 page one and I need the time to write that other 20 pages. Fortunately some of my profs have been very supportive of this. I got an A- in my Philosophy of Religion class on the professor's faith that I will someday give him my completed final paper. I have been working on it for 2 months now. The other people in the class thought I was absolutely crazy because, while we only needed one or two articles as sources, I cite 14 books and I've read thousands of pages of research material. I think I might make a publishable breakthrough in agnostic ethics but everyone just thinks I'm crazy.

As for my obsession with theater, I have been known to spend 70 hours a week on a show in addition to (supposedly) going to classes. I have also spent entire breaks preparing for shows. I have effectively skipped fall break this year and last year. Even people working on the same production think I'm nuts to do that.

People wonder how I got so good at being a tech. It is because I read catalogs, manuals, and tech specs for fun. I read trade magazines cover to cover. I know more about latest and greatest theater equipment than my professors. When people see me reading all this they think I'm weird but they aren't above coming to me begging for help when they have technical difficulties. I am only of just a bit above average intelligence but the thoroughness caused by my obsessiveness does wonders for me.

im always questionned about how i come up with my answers, 90% of the time i cant explain the method/how i got my answer/analysis. im not sure if its because i unconsiously forget it and only remember the important bits, or i just find it to hard to explain to the person im talking to, anyone else feel this way? was the same when i was younger, i scored 30/30 on 12 modules in maths when i was about 13-14, when it came to the final paper of the year, i scores 90/120 in the test, they exam board gave out 30 marks for showing your workings out/diagrams neetness etc, i found this disgusting, as every single one of my answers was correct why do they need to know my method? it was the same in sciene, suffice to say after that year i lost interest into what was one of my obsessions.... docking marks for not showing, or rather for me, not knowing how i worked it out... anyone with similar experiences?

I think intelligent people seem crazy. I also think that if you get smart enough it might actually cause insanity.

No, I reckon it is because they are intimidated by our intelligence and don't have good enough comebacks to it, or simply cannot engage in what we have said as they don't have a clue what we are talking about. This is all too much for them and they feel belittled and stupid in comparison. People don't like to feel like that, and so react like you are the one with the problem when, in actual fact, they are for being thick and deep down they know it. However, we do think on a different level to others, still no excuse for people saying we have a screw loose though.

Jamer: It actually makes sense for them to require you to show enough of your work so that they know how you did it. If you ever do anything original you need to do it in a way that others can replicate it. This IS as important as getting the correct answer.
