I hate the feel on food on my fingers. The feeling seems to last a long time after i eat. Chocolate is the worst it makes my skin crawl. Although it tastes really nice. I eat hamburgers, pizza, some sandwiches and other unusual things with a knife and fork. I would eat things like lollies and skittles with a spoon if my family wouldnt tease me about it. I think this could be an aspie thing similar to tactile sensitivity, problems with certain clothes, certain textures and the like. Does anyone experience something similar?

It IS a possible autistic reaction that IS in the DSM. As for me, it depends on the texture, etc... I tend to eat sandwiches to avoid this sort of thing.

"Anyone hate getting food on their hands?"

Not as much as I hate getting s**t on my hands.

Depends on the type of food.

Thanks for treating my topic seriously MrMark (sarcasm). Is the language really needed?

Yes I hate getting sticky. I get quite distressed if I can't wash my hands or at least use a wet wipe. What I hate most of all is getting old food on me from dirty plates when I'm packing the dishwasher. EWWWWW!! !! I wash my hands dozens of times while I'm doing that! Irrational, I know but necessary

My youngest son (possible Aspergers) is the worst in our family for this... I'm nowhere near as picky (have Aspergers) about it and neither is my oldest son (moderate autism).

I hate it when my hands get sticky from sweets. I avoid stuff with gooey toppings for that reason.

Yes, and I also dislike it when my hands get wet for some reason.

Some food is worth getting dirty for. Like smoked BBQ pork ribs when the meat so tender it falls of the bone. One of the most delicious food items on this planet! They taste so good that, even though like y'all I'm not crazy about getting food on my hands, I'm willing to overlook the fact that ribs and utensils just don't work together.
