It is indeed horrible... at times. But I don't think the idiot wants to be autistic. He just sounds f***ing stupid.

I'm still not convinced of my own place on the spectrum, but it bloody well answers some questions that forced themselves upon me many years ago - like how I didn't like joining clubs and didn't like labels, even if convenient, because none suited me. Until this one.

The guy saying it's fake is projecting the general concept of hypochrondria onto Aspies, isn't he?
Sure it may happen that someone out there uses it as an excuse, but all I know is I didn't ask for this, did you?

Aspies are more than likely emos.

Some people believe Aspergers and ADHD are behavioural conditions due to a lack of discipline.

Parents are too lazy to discipline their naughty child or too scared to be labelled a child abuser by the authorities.

Your naughty child may have Aspergers or ADHD. A diagnosis and a few pills from a doctor can help quiet down the child and not upset the politically correct civil libertarians.

I'd probably reply (if I replied at all) "Okay, then I have autism, a majority of us including (probably) myself technically meet the diagnostic criteria for autism anyways, its just that this other subset of autism fits us better than the label of classic autism does."

I agree, personally. I feel very weak, not physically but emotionally. I'm a timid person with a fragile state of mind, and no self-esteem, and having people staring at me every single time I go out is making me feel like I'm some freak, which makes me feel even more unhappy. So an NT with a big mouth has insulted you and others with Aspergers. You should close his or her mouth with a punch to his or her mouth. How dare they insult Aspergers?
