I have a 8 yo with autism and sometimes he appears to not be able to keep up with school work at times, but at the same time appears sometimes to know more then what even I know .Its the same with social interactions..etc sometimes he seems fines other way behind. We had testing done and the doctors said the processing score is extremly high and common in kids with autism but communication and interactions is above average for a typical autistic kid.His verbal comprehnsion and cultural and communication are less optimal on tests. My child has severe anxiety they say its related to the autism.
Whats all this mean? Are these scores common with autism?

Your missing the standard scores for the other three area. My guess is they are in the avg range. You are also missing the fsiq. It looks like the only real area of weakness is vocabulary. He shows strength in scanning and processing - symbol search. Anyway, there are many studies about the patterns of scoring in autistic/aspergers/nvld kids, with some intersecting results and trends, but the variance is high. So, the WISC shows individual differences and patterns noticed or the absence of those patterns is not a tool for diagnosis of autism. I would hope the comments on social communication are based on something other than the WISC.
