I do that too. I always have obsessions with a band or an artist and listen to their whole discography. And when I find a song that I really love, I'll listen to it repeatedly...
I first got into music at 7 years of age, when my father played a vinyl disc with Ravel's Bolero. I was entranced, learned how to use the record player and played the record repeatedly for days on end, until my aunt convinced me to listen to something else. Which I did, got into it again and went on listening to it, obsessively... The first song I listened on repeat, however, was Seaside Rendezvous by Queen, when I was 9 years old. I didn't want to listen to the whole album, I just listened to this one song again and again. For days and days, maybe even a few weeks, I don't remember, as I had an even worse notion of time back then than I do now. I drove my parents up the wall with this song, so they did their best to stop me from listening to it. They managed to for a while... but, 6 years later, I totally fell in love with the music of Queen (because of the same record) and then, there was no stopping anymore (although, this time, I listened to their whole catalogue)... I guess one can't really suppress a special interest, if it's meant to be...
