I normally don't care much for high pitched but I like Poppylungstuffing's voice.

I sing alot out loud and will sing high pitched most of the time if i'm in a silly good mood. I don't sing high pitched along with other instruments though.

Favorite heavy metal singers with high pitch voices. Maybe there's a link here? I like all types of singing, but Geoff Tate's voice has something about it. A few others come close, but I remember searching for the highest pitched singers as a teenager lookin for some more metal CDs. Warrel Dane was probably the highest pitched I've found, and was a favorite of mine for a long time. Might have been an obsession of mine, now that I think about it... :?

There are some others I'd like to add to the list here:

Matt Barlow (Iced Earth)
Eric Adams (Manowar)
Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian)
and of course, King Diamond

I was wondering when someone would mention King Diamond. I saw him live a few years ago and was amazed how he could do what he does with his pitch with no electronic aid.

I'd also like to ad:

Harry Conklin from Jag Panzer

I once wrote a song about how I can't sing way up high because both my testicles still work. It was called "I can't be a heavy metal king".

I quite like Metal, but most of the singers you've mentioned get on my nerves, even when (as in the case of Tate and Dickinson) I really like the band.

as long as they don't sing through their nose, which seems to be so popular nowadays. they used to gong people on the "amateur hour" for that.

Does Neil Young count? I can sing like him and it really catches people off-guard because it's one of those noises I make that no one expects me to be able to make.

I can do a decent King Diamond impersonation too.

Barry Gibb's falsetto is fine. Kate Bush sends me running.

I once spun an album by Earth,Wind, and Fire at a July fourth cook out, and all my friends were awestruck by it, and said it was the "best Bee Gees album Ive ever heard!".

Both lead singers: Barry Gibbs, and Maurice White, are examples of men who can sing soprano better than most women can. So I can see the reason for the confusion.
