It's relaxing for some reason. I also order paper doll books that are old clothes from the 20's and 40's or the Civil War, and I cut the intricate clothes out for hours upon end. I don't play with the dolls. I do it solely to cut and revel in the history. I also love making collages because of the repetitive quality of cutting, then outlining where the pictures go, and then taping the pictures down. It's a rhythm.

Well, when I say cutting paper... I don't mean making a collage, or any sort of constructive cut. I don't really do it anymore as much as when I still had a desk, but sometimes I would just put a paper flat, put the point of a knife on the paper, drag the paper, and then be extremely pleased when I pulled the seemingly "joined" two pieces apart, while still having it look so pristine. I really never quite understood this one myself...
