I think through the things I am about to say before I say them all the time. It is quite helpful.

I rehearse things a lot, particularly if I'm talking to my boss or someone similar. Sometimes I will repeat what I've said in my head afterwards to review it and see if it came out the way I originally intended it in my head.

When I'm spelling a word I always picture an image of the word and read the spelling from there. I don't know if I'm remembering seeing the word in print or "thinking visually".

I can relate to this very clearly.
When I think of a scientific term, for instance I have learned recently 5 layers of our atmosphere.
Troposphere
stratosphere
mesophere
thermosphere
exosphere

I needed only two attempts in order to learn these 5 layers permanently, and this is why I am able to learn things easily. But more importantly I am able to rememeber what I have learned.

I visualise the letters (words) in my mind, just as you mentioned. To recall what I have mentioned, my mind displays and mimics these words for me to arrange and make sense of in my mind.
I see the words and imagery that might be associated with the word and it is displayed in my mind.
It's like taking a photograph of a particular word that is relevent, and then recalling this photograph to remember.

I also use this visual effect in order to investigate or make sense of a complicated scenario or to find a complicated pattern.
For instance, I am able to find and figure out a pattern that is not necessarily obvious, and I able to do this regardless of the complexity involved.
I often feel overwhelmed with the results, I become shocked at my own results and (brain power) and it is often too complex for an NT to understand.

I engage with my own visual thinking, this is how I am able to do this. I enter my own world and it is not necessary for us to be concious or engage in other NT's thoughts or eye contact. My whole brain power is consumed in thinking and remembering, I don't need to be bothered with eye contact or my self-awareness and s**t of that nature.

Perhaps if NT's were less aware of how they are portrayed towards another person, perhaps they themselves would be able to think and rembember things of this complexity.
This is why conversations with NT's is a terrible ordeal, they either can't understand, don't want to know, or add their opinion which is never relevent or understood properly.

Anytime I can't remember someone's name, or something I need to say, I try to visualize where I've seen it written.

For instance, if I can't remember someone's name and they work at my office, I'll try to visualize their cube and their name plate. For some reason that seems to work. If I have "seen" the words somewhere, I can read them back off my mind. If I have just heard them, it might be harder to remember. When I remember spoken words, they seem to be all stuck together. If I can remember the tangent they are part of then I can remember the whole thing and get the words I need.

with Corvus, I think in pictures. Conversation consists of thinking about my responses and viewing my internal movie, then putting words to it. But I don't visualize the words themselves, they just sorta come once the movie is made.

I also type my words in conversations, or what I hear others saying. Usually I can hide my hands so no one notices. Is that a stim? It's not on any of the stim lists.

I see words when I am thinking about them or when someone else is saying them. And I see them when I'm spelling or am reciting things.

I have a semi-photographic memory. I see one word at a time.

I do not visualize words in the sense that I habitually connect them with a visual image. For me, a word i an abstract object in my head which is the word itself, not the thing it describes, or the way it's spelled or pronounced. From that word, I can summon things like the way it's spelt or pronounced, would I need that, but that takes some extra effort, so I only do it if I need to write or say the word, not if I'm just thinking it.
It's hard to explain for someone who doesn't think the same way as I do, but if you do, you'll probably know what I mean.
Because of this, sometimes things I say spontaneously are nonsensical because I say something else than I thought of. (This usually doesn't happen when I write though.) So I tend to keep a little "buffer" of words between my brain and my mouth to avoid missayings.
What I usually do as well, is think about the etymology of words, and sort of "taste" the words and see what they really mean by investigating and analyzing their (presumed) history. I think this is something NT's (And possible even people in general) don't do, they just learn words, and then take them for granted, so to speak.

At work, I will occasionally say the title of a book, along with its Dewey decimal number, to focus on the item I need to pull from my list.
