I've been extraordinarily busy with papers, exams, vet visits, advising, and about twenty other things for the last week or so. As a result, I've had next to no time for any of my special interests and I'm starting to feel unreasonably guilty about it. As if that isn't bad enough, I've noticed that my patience for everything runs out much quicker than usual and I'm quickly losing the inspiration and energy I need to get even the bare minimum done. Starting Thursday afternoon, I'll have a little over a month to do absolutely anything I want, but for now it's hard to get anything accomplished. To make things worse, my distance from my current obsession is making me start to lose interest in it but I don't have five hours or more to devote to it everyday to get it back.

How do you feel/react when you don't have time to focus on your special interests for an extended period of time? Do you feel a wave of relief when you finally do get back to it, or is your enthusiasm less than it was before?

I've noticed I've had more enthusiasm for a special interest when I'm away from it for a short, or long while.

I have a full time job witch to me makes it feel as if I can't fit in enough alone time and special interests time. So instead of doing my job 100% a lot of the time I'm zoned out thinking about my special interests or researching online about them.
To be honest I'm surprised I haven't got fired yet. :( I sort of wish would get fired so I have more time for my special interests but then I won't have any money for it ahhh!
Then again my job is so boring and easy there is a lot of time where I don't really have anything to do + I have two computers at my desk. :)
Work on one and play on the other.

And don't even try to get a hold of me on the weekends!! !! !!

I hope I end up with a job that has two computers within a five foot span.

I love my lower division classes right now: the exams don't take very long (as long as you have a pulse you pass, basically) and I already know all of the material so I don't have to pay attention. I get to work on my interests all semester, and no one ever sits next to the "weird girl" so I get a whole row of desks all to myself. I don't know what I'm going to do when I actually do have to start paying attention, though...

I get very very depressed & irritable when I can't pursue my special interests.
