I have a large forehead. And a big head. My daughter who I suspect has AS also has a large forehead and a big head (as in often couldn't wear pull-over's big head)

Ahayes, that picture is of a 12 year old. Aren't you in college? if you like them young, atleast go for high school girls.

Heh, not as big as it was before - still a bit though.

I used to rip the seams on the neck of all my t-shirts and jumpers...

Not entirely sure if this is something common in people with AS: there's always the temptation to relate personal experiences and the like to other people; find some, if not all of them agreeing; and then assuming that ALL people with AS have whatever it is.

I think this is something innately human more than AS. You reduce the need of overthinking if you generalize to some extent and then apply automatic responses. Also, there seems to be some kind of compulsion to be normal in the diversity.

This is what I found out about the macrocephalia and autism:

They are certainly normal in stature, with normal-to-large heads" (Rodier 2000:60). 3. "The corners of his mouth are low compared with the center of his upper lip, and the top of his ears flop over [and are 'lower than normal' with 'an almost square shape'] . . ." (Rodier 2000:59).

(I do have this kind of mouth)

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to relate to EVERY SINGLE person on this forum as regarding every detail of my life; but I refrain, on the most part, from posting about what I think is typical AS behaviour because it's quite likely it's more to do with myself as an individual, rather than myself as someone with AS.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have a subconscious habit of constantly raising my eyebrows ('creasing' my forehead) to make it appear smaller, and I'm conscious of it now that we're talking about it.

Don't worry, I don't fit the official AS criteria that much so I don't think I could ever relate to the most interesting cases. This site for me is useful in noticing little things. For instance, I discovered I was a bit bad at understanding what people said in noisy rooms, and also bad at following long dialogues.

What you say kinda reminds me of me :D I have always thought of myself as an intelligent person, but I won't consider anything I accomplish as a sign of intelligence, it is always hard work to me.

AH! A grafter. Any good results I get in school/college etc. are through working until my head goes through the brick wall, so to speak - I'm not naturally intelligent. If that's what you meant in general...

Technically I ain't a grafter :D I also stopped being an achiever long time ago, since I saw other students cheating during tests (I really couldn't stand it). But I spend a lot of time doing researches on internet and thinking on what I found, and sometimes this pay off.

At the AS meetings I noticed all the guys except for one who is low spectrum have major foreheads jutting out. They look like Neanderthals. I don't notice the females having this at all though when I look at childhood pictures of myself I noticed my head was big all around, not just he forehead. Someone mentioned hairline. It would suffice to say since AS is associated with increased testosterone that would explain why AS adult men tend to show balding starting in their 20's and the women I've met all have thick hair.

I have a ginormous forehead. Yes the avatar pic is me. Oddly enough, I've always been very attracted to women with large foreheads. Christina Ricci, Mena Suvari, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Love Hewitt, yummm. Don't know if any of them are aspie, probably not except possibly Christina Ricci because I read that she has an extremely high IQ, learned how to read at the age of three and self-harms, ... but those things alone don't make her aspie.

Yes. I believe there is a definite correlation. Thank you for noticing this; I thought I was the only one. I have noticed a few other physical characteristics that it seems many people with AS share. I won't post them here, don't want to threadjack, but PM me and I'll PM you back.
