I had actually completely forgoten about this obsession until you mentioned it. Yes, kindergarten through second grade I was obsessed with coins. I have my penny book filled out from 1900- 2005. Even the steelies! I am close on the nickels. Have all dimes 1900-2005. And all quarters 1965- 2005. And to be specific, I do not have all of the various "s" "d" and "p" designations for the nickels, dmes and quarters but I do for the pennies. I also have a $20 replacement note, various old coins (pre- 1900), foreign coins and other paper money. Before today, I haden't looked at my collection for years. Thanks for mentioning it!

I also used to collect rocks during the same time period. I actually found a huge stash of petrified wood near my house. My largest piece was about the thickness of a small log and two feet long! Unfortunately, a lot of the collection has been grown over by shrubbery, I will have to uncover after finals are over.

I used to collect coins from about 1958 to the late 1990s. It was mostly a type collection of US coins. Eventually, the coins I needed (mostly early gold and silver types) got too expensive. I finally gave up after getting my first (and only) early $5 gold coin -- the price was high back then but it's amazing how exhorbitant the price of that coin is now.

The good thing about this collection is that it formed the basis for my later accumulation of cheaper gold coins -- a hedge against inflation, currency collapse, etc. :)

Um, let's see.....

160+ Beanie Babies -I started collecting in the '90s for enjoyment, not because I thought they'd go up in value like I saw a lot of NTs doing.

Loads of Lolita fashion clothing -Love wearing Lolita but it's so doggone expensive so I had to put buying anything new on hiatus.

Music CDs -I inherited this addiction...er, um...hobby from my ex-boyfriend. Have sold off most of my collection for cash since I can get most music off the internet nowadays.

Dust -Well that wasn't intentional but what else can I get from not having the energy to clean my darn apartment?
