(hmm) I'm aware that I have some OCD qualities when it comes to always having to lock my doors at night, as if that sounds nutty  beyond this I'm not sure of any other qualities of an Obsessive nature which I exhibit.Mind you I don't have OCD itself yet, share some qualities though therefore, in relation to your post I'm able to understand.

Does anyone else here suffer OCD and if so, what form does it take...as in what actions or thoughts do you repeat? Also, is there anyone who has or has had an eating disorder and finds that their OCD revolves around something connected to eating or their body size? Thanks... looking to find if I am totally alone in this problem.

Also, is there anything other than medication that can help with this?

Mine takes the form of worrying whether or not I have AS, and having to be reassured one way or the other periodically. I also worry whenever I see anyone on TV or in a book or movie who is a certain way I don't want to be, that I'm like them even if I"m not. It limits what I can watch or read.

Why is it so important to you whether you have the AS label or not?

I know Marc Summers and Howie Mandel have OCD. Those are two American game show hosts, by the way.

However, they have shown that you can overcome OCD, and I like them very much!

It's not like they were saying, "I'm too afraid, I'll just have someone open up the door for me," or "Goodness gracious, I hope I never get slimed again!" They can get over it. I'm just telling you what I think they would say if they weren't.

There's some food for thought for you all.

It would help explain a lot of things. Also in case I need accomodations at work, though I probably would never ask for them. And I would realize that even if I get over my social anxiety I'll still be socially awkward, and I won't beat myself up about that (though I do need therapy/meds for the social anxiety and OCD symptoms).

It's just something I obsess about, like some people obsess about physical illness. Sometimes I really **don't** want the label, when I read something bad about AS, so then I obsess about that. Other times I can forget about it for a long period of time.

I understand, but OCD is what makes Marc and Howie different from us just as AS is what makes us different from other people.

I must have everything symmetrical. It must be that way. If I step on something with my right foot, it must be done with my left foot as well.

I do that too :D

Now you're really not making sense. You can get accommodations at work for having OCD and social anxiety. You don't need to have AS to get accommodations.
