I am not happy with the article in Wikipedia about the movie that I have worked very hard on for the last nine years. What disturbs me most is the fact that somebody actually lifted the movie trailer which is on the official movie site and made it his own. What that does is deny the reader the opportunity to get the official information and leaves it to the Wikipedia author to slant things as he wishes.

I also am offended by the term "pre-emptive review." That is hardly a positive title for a review. It implies that somebody is reviewing this movie in advance, assuming it will do damage to our community, making a "pre-emptive review (strike?) necessary.

If the author(s) of this had any sense of fairness or decency, they would have contacted me. I am not exactly hiding in the community. My life is the main inspiration for this movie, even the authors say that this is only "apparently" true. It is totally true.

I am informing the movie producers that their trailer has been highjacked. I advise anyone who wants the TRUTH about my movie to contact me or better yet, go to the official movie website at

www.mozartandthewhale.com

Thanks for your attention. This is really an offensive violation.

Jerry Newport, main inspiration for 'Mozart and The Whale", no matter what you read about it in "Wikipedia."

I'm sorry to hear someone hijacked your project. I am truly speechless as how to console you.

No, they only highjacked some internet stuff related to it. They have no control over the movie, nor any knowledge of its current state, release date etc, no matter what they say.

But thanks anyway :)

Is this movie based on your life? what role do you play in the production?

Did you get to make a cameo appearance eating ice-cream in the background or something? Cause if so I promise to stand up and wave when I see it in the cinema! :D

Good lord. Yes, the movie is inspired by my life and that of my wife, Mary. I thought that was common knowledge :) We were paid for the rights to details of our life story, as consultants. We helped with the script, which turned out to have two main characters who have different names and have some of us, but certainly not all of us, in their personality, actions and flashbacks.

But just go to the official movie site I mentioned and tell the Wikipedia jerks to shove it.
They may have the legal right to do what they did but it sure isn't moral. If it isn't removed from wrongplanet.net, I will be outta here real soon.

I am glad not. It was filmed in Spokane in March and ice cream would have been overkill :) But no matter what Wikipedia says, we got the money and the credits will go to us, not these fools.

what did wrongplanet do? and if you don't like what the Wiki says, it's trivially easy to change it.

The damn article is on the WPN site. If somebody can take the link to the trailer off and just put in the link to the movie site, I can live with the rest of it. The main thing is to not steer people away from the official site which is what is being done.

I could do that for you but I can't find the trailer on the main website at all.

Hey Jerry, don't get so worked up. The person who put up the link, the one on the WP site, didn't necessarily know it wasn't a legitimate source. Alex is removing it, I hope you'll stay.

So you don't want the movie to be advertised? Wouldn't it being advertised be a GOOD thing?
