Some times when I listen to certian songs and Im really into it, its hard to explain but its almost like I can see the music. I dont know if that makes any sence but does anyone else see music?

Like, synaesthesia? I've heard autistic people are more likely than average to have synaesthesia.

Synesthesia.

People with this condition see colors in response to music they hear.

This is specifically sound to color synethesia. That's really all the info I have to give :P

Sounds like synesthesia, I have it a bit (I think). I don't see music though but sometimes when I look at a list or schedule it'll turn into colors of the rainbow if it's in order. Also synesthesia has genes related to autism and epilepsy. Bottom line is you have nothing to worry about because synesthesia is a crossing of the senses, and it isn't schizophrenia or any other serious condition. I know Wikipedia has a page on it, and I think webmd has a few articles on it too.

Could I still have synesthesia even though I dont see colors for different things?

Yes, you still experience two senses (hearing and sight) being mixed, and synesthesia is a condition where senses are mixed.

I have associated some songs in my iPod with an event in my life. When I listen to these songs I have a full length color video of that moment or time period of my life running through my head. It almost feels like watching a YouTube video, but with no computer screen in front of me. Could this also be considered synesthesia?

N Yes it can. These symptoms you've listed are very common in synesthesia, and one of the most reported symptoms from those who have this condition.

How do you find out if you have it or not?

I think you may need to talk to a psychologist, and think they administer tests that will determine it. I was never diagnosed, I just read the symptoms and what happens in the condition, and thought i had little bit of it.

I do the same thing. About a year and a half ago I started playing guitar, at 36 y.o.
Now I can play a song that has an "emotional video" attached to it and control it to a point. Hands down, the most effective tool I have ever found to calm my brain when it spirals out of control. If you are aspie or "see" music... pick up an instrument and start trying. Remember, if you do something thousands of times you will be profficiant at it, might not be "good" but you will have the mechanics. Youtube is f*****g great when you want to learn guitar.

Actually, I remember when I was about 11 or 12 at school, we all had to listen to random pieces of songs (with no words) on a CD and draw the music. Everybody done it well, nobody came up with the same drawings as eachother, although one other (NT) girl did draw something similar to what I drew at a certain piece of music (a blue line with green around it).
