Mostly verbal, especially when dealing with concepts.

When necessary, I can use images. But, that takes a deliberate act and is not the default. This actually has practical implications, in that I often have trouble "assembling" images of people in my mind, or even recognizing people unless they are right in front of me.

Some of this is poor eye-sight. But, recognition has always been an issue. It has also gotten worse in recent years.

Wow I was gonna reply to this thread but it turns out that yankeedoodads said it perfectly for me :) This is pretty much exactly the same way I think - almost all verbal. I can do numbers too which means I can do long division and multiplication in my head but not to any crazy level - I'm no savant.

Me either. I think in both pretty strongly. I can hear my thoughts in my head, but I also immediately have visual associations with a word or name. So I think both ways.

I'm incredibly visual AND incredibly verbal. I can't conceptualize ideas without either images or words.

I think visually (also in audio, smells, tactile sensations), and I only think in words to a very limited extent. Simple concepts are manageable, if I try more complex I start looping in a sort of mental palilalia or until I visualize what I'm trying to think and I lose the verbal part.

I also think in that sensory combo. Anything verbal is just a replay of what I've heard before. It's so frustrating because I'm forever grasping for words that may or may not be there.

I tend to think in pictures and abstract non-visualised thoughts that I can't really explain. I do sometimes think in words, but only really when I'm imagining a conversation or planning a sentence to say to someone (I have to plan my speech in advance if it's more than just a generic sentence, or else it tends to come out as a bit of a jumble, or at least more of a jumble than usual).

I'm a bit of both, but mostly visual.
