Some people like the visual display of information, rather than numbers or text. It is a more sensory way of presenting the information. Mind you, I have written graph software, so graphing the results seems natural to me.
What I don't see the use of is multiplying the scores by 10. Why not just talk about the scores as 0 to 10? Adding a zero to the end of every score does not add any extra information.
I understand visual information. I'm very visual myself. I just didn't see what further insight this particular graph would show.
Usually graphs show how trends change over time. Say, fertility rates from 1950 to 2012, to see whether it's increased or decreased or jumped.
But this graph doesn't have that kind of use. Maybe all I ge get out of it is how many highs I have compared to lows, but in this case a pie chart would be a better idea.
Yeah I also don't get the multiplying by 10.
