Hi everyone,

I've recently went back to college and while I haven't mentioned that I suspect that I have an AS, I did put on the application form that I did have a diagnosed Anxiety disorder. However, this has not been mentioned.

I am generally finding it ok however, there are times when I am feeling overwhelmed, largely an effect of the anxiety.

Is there anything that the college can offer with regards to this and perhaps even suspected AS?

I want to mention it, but in a way I worry that I'll come accross like a hypochondriac.

Many colleges have some sort of office for Disabled Students Programs and Services(Or something similar, that is what it is called here) that provides help and accommodations for people with physical, mental, and learning disabilities of various kinds. Try checking your college website under Student Services somewhere, or whatever similar sounding page would be on there.

Unless your a large research university I wouldn't expect that anyone on your campus could do an assessment for Asperger's. But check your Disabilities Office. I have extra time, separate space while taking exams, and computer use during exams and class. It doesn't really help for the anxiety during class, but it definitely helps during the test. I could also get a single room if I wanted it, I'll probably end of taking that accommodation during my junior year.
