Incidentally, I think Donald Rumseld is an idiot (and I'm not politically minded) but I must share this direct quote (this is real)!: ".....there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknown - the ones we don't know we don't know."
Hahaha! INSANE!! !! ! Is this Theory of Mind?
no fan of Rumsfeld but actually this makes sense, also he didn't make it up, he heard it somewhere else, people use it in training seminars etc
known knowns
unknown knowns
known unknowns
unknown unknowns
is how it runs, with 'unknown unknowns' being the least desirable state, 'known knowns' the most empowered etc
Though It's been ridiculed, it certainly made sense to me when I heard it. Also, you got one wrong, common wisdom would have it that "Unknown Knowns", can't exist, though a certain paradox says otherwise.
