NT's call me weird- hey I don't base my judgments and actions on assumptions, non verbal clues, theories, hearsay, group behaviour and preconcieved ideas. If thats normal, I'm glad I'm AS. If I do anything its because it makes sense to my perception of the world around me, therefore it has logic. (even if it is warped logic to some).

Well, I've always known that some people can't make head nor tail of me...!

But if you want to find out how Aspies are viewed by their partners see sites like AS Partners, and AS and Relationships that Work. The first is particularly harrowing (for everyone concerned). I dispute that NTs long ago worked out how to understand others.

I tried both of those but other things came up on the search. Are those the actual site names?

NT's have always question my behaviour and considered it odd, most of the time I feel that I am an invisisble observor, watching things but not watching myself, be aware of whats outside but not being aware of how I am perceived. The worst thing that I sometimes do in response to this is question my own behaviour and try to change it in order to be accepted and perceived correctly.
Sometimes I regret being aware of my AS traits, I wish I could understand other people more, I wish I could act myself and not be reminded that everything I do is not ordinary.
Before my knowledge of AS, I felt that I was right in everthing, okay I critised the world around me but I never felt that the world would have a better reason to critise me.

Everytime I leave the house I feel selfaware, I'm always trying very hard to undertsand what the other person is saying about me, whether what I am doing is right. At the same time I am thinking, why do I have to act in this way, what logic is behind this self image advertisement.
What do I follow, my own judgment or the judgment of other people?

Have you ever considered that NT's always seem to follow other NT's behaviour?

you know, a few years ago i heard about this thing called "projection". it is where people think a certain way and then they project that feeling onto others, believing that others feel that same way when the reality is different.

so NTs don't have one up on us, the truth is probably that we have one up on them. but because they outnumber us, we seem to be the ones who have the problems.

just because the majority sees things one way, does not make that one way the correct way.

no fan of Rumsfeld but actually this makes sense, also he didn't make it up, he heard it somewhere else, people use it in training seminars etc

known knowns
unknown knowns
known unknowns
unknown unknowns

is how it runs, with 'unknown unknowns' being the least desirable state, 'known knowns' the most empowered etc

Though It's been ridiculed, it certainly made sense to me when I heard it. Also, you got one wrong, common wisdom would have it that "Unknown Knowns", can't exist, though a certain paradox says otherwise.

They use this in business all the time with project managment. Basically you try to uncover all of these before you implement the project to avoid problems. The theory is that if you involve enough people, the right people will eventually be in the room to answer all of those.

In other words, I might not know that there is a potential problem in implementing this solution, however, if I get a lead in from the department where the solution will be used, that person will say, "That won't work because ..." It is an unknown unknown to me, meaning I am not even aware that there is something I should know, but it is a known known to them, meaning they encounter this issue every day so they not only know about it, but they know it will be an issue that must be addressed.

Known unknowns are usually things that the project team are aware may be issues, but they do not have all the facts as to how they work or exactly what the issues may be.

Does that make more sense?

P.S. My mother always has funny things to say about Rumsfeld, but this isn't from him, it's standard business talk. (They create it to confuse everyone. NTs don't understand it until it's explained either.)
