I ran out of coffee this week. Not drinking coffee made me so dumb that I haven't been able to get off my @$$ to go buy coffee, but I am going to do it today, after the plumber comes and goes.

I can't stand the smell or taste of coffee, not in any form. I remember a friend of mine had sweets with coffee flavor. I was the only one who didn't like them.

But I do drink caffeine. Usually during the weekends to stay motivated and focused when working on my own programming projects.

At work I am one of the few programmers who can work without caffeine, but I'm quite sure I'd be more effective if I drank caffeine in some form. So maybe one day I'll try to get used to the flavor.

I should try and cut down on mah coffee intake; two cups is too much, IMO!

I drink coffee everyday. I find it is the only stimulant that helps motivate me. It really is a special substance.

This topic should have been a poll. While I am certain there is no correlation between ASDs and caffeine, the strong aroma and taste of coffee probably causes a reaction to the sensory issues common with people on the spectrum. I, for one, can feel quite disorientated whenever somebody is making coffee nearby.

...Although this forum would provide an insignificant sample size, after all. Insufficient data for analysis. But interesting data, nevertheless.

I love coffee and I don't even care what kind it is as long as it has a little milk in it. It has the opposite effect on me and calms me down, even makes me a little sleepy, and even helps when I'm having trouble with asthma. But it makes me pee a LOT, and I'm already incontinent, so I tend to only drink it on weekends when it isn't such a big hassle to get changed more frequently.

For work, I work 14 hour shifts, 24 hours a day, 100-130 hours per week. So I can drink anywhere up to 3 liters of Diet Mt Dew just to feel normal. I found out last week I have a pretty moderate sleeping disorder and am going to have to sleep with a CPAP (hopefully temporary). But I only get a couple hours of real sleep any given night, stop breathing 16.4 times per hour, and only get about 80% oxygenation. Explains why I always have raccoon eyes and am always exhausted.

I love coffee. In fact, I am a coffee snob and proud of it. I grind my own single-origin beans every morning, and make it in a French press. I have a few cups later in the day, though not necessarily made through this method (the work coffee is not bad, actually).

Coffee makes me a little perkier. It can make me anxious, but not enough to cut back.

I used to drink coffee when I started high school, simply because everyone else did and I thought that's what you do. I then realised I don't like it at all and stopped drinking it completely. I enjoy the aroma but the taste, no thanks. I drink a lot of tea instead, mostly green.

I think that caffeine actually makes me sleepy instead of energized. If I have an energy drink I actually get sleepier, anyone else? :?

No, I prefer a quality green tea in the morning.
