If you had a chance to made yourself understood to NTs, what would you want them to know?

That many forms of autism, like mine, doesn't require a cure. We don't need sympathy, we don't need you to try and fix us, we just need your patience in some areas.

That I neither need, nor want, a cure - and that no one who is not also autistic has the slightest chance of understanding anything about me without listening to me carefully. The "experts" who make so many statements about us are only observing the outside, and they don't have the slightest clue what's going on in our minds. And we do not give off the same signals, so when anyone tries observing someone autistic, they're going to jump to the wrong conclusions.

Concur with all above. Personally I just want to be left alone. If I am in a job tell me what to do and leave me at it. I don't want to be part of any social circle, tried that and it doesn't work for me. Not to be involved in small talk beyond 'hello', and 'goodbye'. Just as long as I can support my family and continue with my interests without interruption than I'll be fine. If anyone wants to talk about music, history, literature, or science then that would be good too.
