I've never been able to read facial expressions to save my life other than the blatantly obvious such as a glare or a smile but the others all happen too fast or just look the same to me. I'm horrible with most people, and can't seem to figure out what they meant till after the conversation is over, I'm very routine oriented, ill eat the same breakfast every day for months, that kind of thing. Body language is also a mystery, unless someone is shaking their fist at me I don't seem to be able to tell if they are angry or not. also i seem not to be able to learn no matter what I read online or watch for. I'm tired of always getting the wrong reaction from people and want to know if any of this sounds like aspergers or not? My best subjects are science and music. I do seem to be able to handle basic conversations, like at work or at home.

These sound like they could be Asperger type traits but the only way to know if you have the disorder for sure is to be evaluated for it. Either way you are welcome here and if we can help you in any way all the better but we can't diagnose you online no one can

I'm afraid an online diagnosis is impossible, but you're welcome to stay a while if you like. :)

Why does it have to be one or the other? Maybe you're weird and have AS.

But seriously, only you know you. The best way to figure it out is to read about it and examine yourself in a self-honest way. Nobody here can tell if you have AS, or even that you're weird. If they tell you otherwise they're full of it.

Thank you, I think I will stay for awhile, I was just asking if any of that sounded familiar to you all. Again, thank you for replying.

First you wrote "I seem not to be able to learn no matter what I read or watch on TV" then turn around and write "my best subjects are science and music." Please clarify.

I assumed that they meant learn body language, not learn in general.

To the OP: Sounds about right but I think there are usually a whole load of other common traits that tend to go along with ASDs (even if they are not all mentioned in the diagnostic criteria). In my case it became pretty obvious (thought I am still waiting to be officially assessed) since I have 70-odd of the 80 or so traits I identified to such a degree that they are or have been major problems in my life or at least significantly pronounced. Ironically one of the many reasons I believe I am an aspie is the degree to which researching the subject had/has taken over my life.

Which 80 traits?

There are other things, but I figured I wouldn't load down the post with all of my quirks, just a few of the highlights, I also have sensitivity to sound, (I can't stand any kind of crowded room, or loud noises, footsteps as well) and tactile sensitivity to certain things, though I seem to have a lack of sensitivity to others. I don't really know if that's related to AS or not. I think this is part of why I am so bad with people, though I really can't seem to learn facial, or body expressions, not learn period, sorry if I wasn't clear before.

You can try the Aspie quiz - it will give you a starting point - a full diagnosis is only necessary if you are sufficiently affected as to be causing you problems that can be helped with formal treatments or disability support.

If you are in school - a diagnosis may help you get a 504 plan to aid in school work.

But getting a diagnosis just so you can officially say that you "have Asperger's Syndrome" is quite expensive and of limited use. I lived 60 years without a diagnosis - and only reason I was diagnosed is that it came along with my sons diagnosis - which along with a diagnosis for dysgraphia got him a badly needed 504plan.
