I shave once a day but I hate it. Seems like I cut myself almost all the time.

I don't mind it but it does take longer than I would like. I shave while I shower most of the time.

I solved a lot of my shaving issues by switching to a double edge razor. I currently use a Weishi 9306 and Astra blades. The main reason I went for double edge was cost. It's cheap as all hell. Blades run about 10c each, so you can afford to change them often. Also, there's thousands of different razors that all shave differently, and thousands of different blades that'll shave differently, too. Before DE, I'd have to keep an old cartridge on for like months at a time, and it'd be dull and irritate my skin. My Weishi is a mild razor, which means it doesn't tug much, but you get less close of a shave compared to an "aggressive" razor. My Weishi runs like $10-15 and it's good. Sensorywise it feels nicer having a metal razor in your hand/on your face compared to a plastic one, too.

So I'd recommend people try a DE razor and see if it improves their shaving life. If that doesn't work out, try a Gillette Trac-II, as multiple people make cartridges for it. So it's cheap to buy carts for it, Wilkinson's Sword ones are like $3 for 10 at Walmart. So you can afford with that to keep a fresh blade going, too.

I do. I shave like once every two months, and only if someone is there to remember me about it.

Why don't you give waxing a go and see what it is like?

I tried waxing twice. Both times (it was different methods) I reacted to it. Not good. Especially as it meant no shaving for 3 weeks in the summer. That was gross.

I wouldn't normally suggest anyone wax, but the poster I responded to expressed deep disgust at women who do not shave, and was trying to convince a woman who said she does not shave that she should try waxing.

At least all that barbaric body hair doesn't grow back for several weeks.

Pubic hair on a woman is par for the course, but leg/armpit hair? No, no, no!

Ladies: What are your thoughts on guys shaving/waxing their legs? (Even if they're not bodybuilders, wrestlers, swimmers, or gay/bi?)

I've never heard of him! This amuses me greatly. Thank you. I am a bit jealous of how excitedly pleased his expression is; I suppose I would find being a TV-chef and B-List celebrity something to smile about, given that there was nothing more worthy of a smile going on in my life.

Yeah, I hate shaving my legs. It always makes my skin so prickly and sticky-feeling after, no matter how much shaving cream I use or how well I wash it off after.

I'm currently 13 and haven't got facial hair yet, but I imagine that it'll be quite annoying in the future.

I like the idea of hair removal. It's just one of those feelings which bring me great satifaction. Like when you peel a protective cover off a new device. I am a bit clumsy though, I always seem to cut the tops of my lips. Very saw and it doesn't stop bleeding for ages. Does leave a pretty cool cut though for a few days.
I don't need to shave. It takes forever to grow, but I like to do it every Monday morning. Plus I'm blonde, you can't even see it anyway..

I used to work with a couple of Filipinos guys who plucked their face rather than shave.

Sure saved on blades.

One of my things/uber interests is double edged razors.

I have to shave.

I have an assortment of gorgeous badger hair shaving brushes and many DE razors.
My current day to day razors are a 1960 Gillette Toggle refinished in rhodium and a Gillette Fatboy in rhodium with the same date of manufacture as my date of birth 11/1959, nice huh?

Then there's the different shave soaps and shave bowls.

Shaving my face with a good combination of blade, razor and soap is music to my ears as each hair is cleaved cleanly.

Week days I complete a one or two pass shave but weekends, will see me complete a three or four pass shave. For me it's a method of relaxation, a time out period where I can concentrate on a simple thing that brings pleasure.

The good things about using a single blade are no razor burn, ingrown hairs and blades are less than $1 a piece

This sounds amazing, but expensive..?

I'm considering permanent hair removal because I really feel it's a waste of time to shave and shaving sometimes hurts. I'm a male. So I'm talking about my facial hair, though mine is not the thickest.

I just paid $130.00au for three premium shaving brushes and two chromed stands, all new.
Old razors are a dime a dozen. the better the condition the more you'll pay on the open market.
However if you place an advert in the local free newspaper, the one the older folks read every week. Offering cash for old razors.
Be prepared for a heap of replies or calls.
My favorite razor cost me five bucks plus replating.

I've sold a couple to gain cash for a high cost item but generally like to collect the different month/year models.
I make a rule that I use each item and it doesn't just sit in a display case. All my razors are used.
A US company, Razor Emporium will recondition and re-plate most brass based razors at a reasonable cost Here
Cut throat razors are another collectible, but my hand isn't steady enough to trust against my jugular.

I collect center pin and rolling pin fishing reels too, the same rule applies. They are used for their intended purpose.

I enjoy the skill it takes to complete a task using old school implements.
A phrase comes to mind....
Its not the destination, but the journey.

Old school is cool. 8)
