Yes, however not very often when I actually am.

Oh I forgot:
when I was a teenager my mom even went to an information center for illegal drugs to ask what she can do, because she was convinced that I would take illegal drugs. 8O

I was very strange and hard to handle at that time. I think my bipolar started then, well I'm not sure, they are so many possible factors...! :?
Maybe just puberty.

I can't even remember how many times I've been asked this, lol. Usually when I'm in a good social setting, happy, and making weird jokes. It's usually asked in a good way, like I'll say something weirdly funny, all excited, and they'll say, "What are you on?" and someone else will say, "And where can I get some?" Often they are at least half serious, and when it's people who don't know me well, they seriously think I'm on something.

Often, but only jokingly. My friends know I don't do that kind of stuff but tell me I'm so laid back and calm like I was high.

I used to get this ALL THE TIME in junior high/high school. When I just had my typical "every-day" expression on, I guess my eyes kind of drooped a little and looked like druggie eyes. For the record, I have never done a single drug in my life, not even alcohol. So it used to frustrate me to no end, since I prided myself so much on my not doing drugs, yet everyone seemed to think I did do them (even my dad thought so because of the way my eyes looked).

Nowadays though I never get that. I don't know if its because my facial features have changed, or I just altered my base facial expression, but now that's the last thing anyone thinks about me. I think part of it is that I started working extensively on modifying my expression when that happened, and focused on trying to hold my eyes open wider than I normally did, to make myself not appear "high". Pretty sure it worked, or at least helped.

As a true Aspie, I remember exactly where I was, at age 16, when my mom asked me the following: "Are you on drugs?" That was 1988, six years before AS was recognized.

LOOOOOL. I got this all through high school. Then I went to college in northeastern Vermont where everyone actually IS high all the time and nobody thought anything of it.

yes when was younger, in my late teens, early twenties. Many people wanted to look at my eyes.
I would always tell them "I don't need to do drugs, I have them built in inside me"

I have a gluten and casein sensitivity that makes my brain process those substances similarly to opioids, so while I didn't have opioids built inside me, I had a source a lot of my friends in high school and college would have been jealous of. I got that question constantly from around the ages of eight to twelve, but by my early teens so many of my peers actually were high that no one noticed any signs in me anymore.

I knew an aspie at my school who my friend thought was high all the time, lol. I told my friend, I thought he was aspie and I doubted that he was ever high.

I do not do illegal drugs. Yet, some people seem to have over active imaginations.

Many people who don't know me think I'm either intoxicated or in need of medication...some people who do know me also share that opinion.

All the time.
have very intense mood swings and periods where I'm very hyper and say many strange things. This also leads me to be called Bipolar, even though I'm not.
