i noticed when other people comment there is a bit underneath that says a bit about themself or something like that, is that what your "signature" is on your profile or is it something else?

The quote below my post is my "signature". It's added in the control panel, and it's not picked up when someone "quotes" the post.

My signature is a joke someone told me on another website and I thought it was funny even though I wasn't sure if it was meant as a joke or to make fun of me. But I loved it and decided to use it. That person did tell me he thought I would like it so he told me it. So it was meant as a joke.

My signature is a quote from Lestat de Lioncourt, of the "Vampire Chronicles" fame. I'm currently obsessed with him and vampires in general--except for Edward Cullen, who can't even be called a vampire.
