How does that work? That you can be sarcastic, but not get other people's sarcasm? I am trying to teach my kids sarcasm and oddly enough (or maybe it is not?), my younger ASD daughter is getting it quicker than my older NVLD son.
I am sarcastic. And most people do not get my sense of humor until they know me, and sometimes even people who know me well have to be told "I was kidding" or else they think I am serious. I think it is because my body language is rigid and my speech can be too formal.
But I sometimes like silly things, too, although I am not silly. I can laugh at other people's silliness, though. But I do not like humor that is based on someone else's physical or emotional pain. I find it to be vulgar and in poor taste.
