No, I don't.

Or, till I was about 12 I did, but I totally lost interest in it and noone ever came anyway.
Or, my mom did, till I was about 12 ;-)

My 18th year birthday I celebrated with an icecream with a friend who didn't knew it was my birthday.
Best birthday ever :-)

My boyfriend and his family like to celebrate my birthday and I'm still trying to tell them that I honestly don't care and I actually prefer not to celebrate anything.
It is also about that I'm having a lot of trouble handling gifts; saying thanks and all that.

Anyway. It all comes down to lack of social skills that makes me... I only know the Danish word for this, sorry.. ;-)
I mean.. Ehm.. I tend to shut other people out of my world when things get personal. Guess that's what I'm trying to say.

AndreasF: så kan du sige det på dansk

I haven't celebrated since I was 8 years old. And really don't see why I should

I don't like to celebrate it, but I put up with doing it for my family.

I take the day off from work and household chores because, "It's my birthday, dammit!"

Yes, just not on a large scale. I don't do anything bigger than a family gathering.

No. I stopped in my mid-teens when I got fed up of inviting people and having nobody turn up on the day. I decided I'd rather just not make any plans than continue to be let down. I don't mind, though, because I'd much rather spend my birthday like any other day instead of changing my routine just because it's my birthday and that's what you're supposed to do.

I celebrate my birthday in at least some way (movie party, going out to eat, etc.). I used to celebrate them with my cousins but they moved away, so birthdays aren't as much fun as they used to be.

I celebrate my birthday because, despite all the hardships I've been through, I'm not wasting away in prison or lying permanently crippled in bed on a ventilator or homeless on the street. In essence, I celebrate life. It's usually pretty simple, though. I treat myself to a good dinner and have some wine.

Yes I do as it's a special day as it's all about me! :D

You get cards, presents and cake

- all good things, so why not celebrate it?

I don't want a party, just the good parts ie the cake and presents mainly
and the ability to say 'I can do this/have this as it's my birthday!'

Even if I have to buy my own birthday cake (which I will probably eat most of myself!) I'm still going
to celebrate my birthday

It's not compulsory to celebrate it if you don't want to though - just do what you prefer to do

I dont usually.

I rather enjoy a hot cup of herbal tea and some quiet time to myself.

My birthday, for lack of a better way to explain it, is a source of immense negative thought.
