Maybe your not really procrastinating. You have to be doing something while your putting off the thing your not doing, so your still doing something. Maybe the thing your doing is the thing you should be doing because you like it. Maybe your not doing the thing because you don't want to. If you don't want to then maybe you shouldn't, but only you know that. The problem is that everybody has to do things they don't want to. If you know you have to do things and you are able to do them, but are just choosing not to then that means sombody else is doing your things for you. But the other persons have their own things to do too, so that means that they are doing your things, plus their things. That sounds like a lot of things to do.

I do things that I hate while I'm procrastinating. I waste time, too guilty to do what I want, but unwilling to do what I need to. I lead a miserable life, when I have work to do.

It was pretty good when I had no responsibilities though.

Squatter and the ant, this sounds just like me! One day I procrasinated so long I realised I was no longer 21 and a decade had passed me by. I just seem to flit around and or stare into space. Its a criminal waste of time!

Im probably a worse procrastinator than you. Sorry, I have no idea how to help.

I try too.

*Set one hour in a day that I just sit down and have to work.

*Use a planner, it really helps.

*Stay off the computer.

*Listen lightly to the music you like while working.

The planner only helps if you can remember to check the thing in the first place.

and to have a pen at hand...

and not waste an hour just looking for a pen, stopping by to check the fishtank, go to to the kitchen and prepare a snack, open the fridge, spend an hour cleaning it, go watch tv to rest a little (you are tired after cleaning the fridge), go to the kitchen again to have dinner, brush your teeth and get some sleep :)

what works for me is to just do it, stop putting excuses, stop wandering, restrain myself and just do it, sometimes it's very hard
