My daughter has had about 4. It's then only thing we ever have to see the doc about.

I had constant ear infections. I remember my eardrum burst and I had to get tubes a few times. When I was a baby I failed my hearing test and they said I was hard of hearing. Maybe I was but I'm not anymore so I sometimes wonder if the reason I failed (ie, didn't respond to people) was due to ASD rather than hearing problems.

A lot of children do get ear infections, but the majority grow out of it. I never did grow out of it, I'm born to have sinus and ear trouble all my life.

Yes. Lots of ear infections, so bad I couldn't walk more than a short distance before falling over because my balance was affected.

Cleared up after home became smoke-free.

My hearing is good now, but my balance is poor.

I've had ear infections all my life. For the last two years I've managed to stay free of them by putting a few drops of surgical spirit (rubbing alcohol) and vinegar mixed together, in each ear daily.

Surgical spirit acts as a drying agent, and the bugs which cause infections cannot survive vinegar. (That's why vinegar is used as a preservative).

Hmmm... It seems like I'm the only one that STILL gets them as an ADULT. It seems like I had them more frequently as a kid but the one's I've had as an adult were far more painful when I didn't seek treatment fast enough. In my 20s I ended up going to the ER in the middle of the night twice.

As a child I had middle ear infections where the pain only gets so bad before the eardrum breaks and there's instant relief. I remember being terrified that my ear was bleeding more than the actual pain being bad.

As an adult I've had this thing where the middle ear and ear canal get infected at the same time. In that case there's no relief as the pressure pushes from the outside in rather than the inside out and there's absolutely nowhere for all the pus and junk to go because both the eustachian tube and ear canal are swollen shut creating a suction vacuum in the middle ear. At times it felt like a knife rammed through my eardrum that twisted with every pulse of my heartbeat. On top of that I could hardly eat because swallowing or moving my jaw hurt. The maximum vicodin barely helped me sleep.

Ear infections were the bane of my childhood. I still don't like cherry-flavored candy because it tastes of Penicillin to me. The Penicillin I was constantly taking was cherry-flavored, so the two tastes got mixed up in my brain.

I also have some abnormalities in the shape of my outer ears.

Tubes in my ears from 18 months of age to 7 years of age. My ears still don't drain properly. I don't get them anymore, but I still get heavy buildup of wax in my ears.

I also had tubes in my ears because of ear infections. My mom still has them in a photo album lol.

I seem to remember having quite a few of them. Did anyone else get prescribed the "pink stuff" aka amoxicillin?
