I got 1/5 first time - with the reminder being within 10
2/5 second time - with the remainder being within 10
.....after a few attempts I was getting 3/5

Hubby (NT) got 1/5
Son (NT) got 1/5
....they both got bored before trying again though :-)

I got 3 guesses within 5 of the right number. According to the test I am already a crafty counter 8O
What I used is an estimation of the density of the dots.

Now that's interesting: I did the test several times, and my guesses are always 8-11 points below the actual number - usually 10.

Didn't much like the flashing dots either, but I surprised myself with 3 guesses within 5 of the right number. :D
I did not expect to do well on this, and don't consider myself as having any savant skill.. unfortunatley

First go I guessed 85- answer was 66
Second I guessed 134- answer was 135
Third go I guessed 110- answer was 114
Fourth go I guessed 125- answer was 96
Fifth go I guessed 110- answer was 67

I'm doin it again but coz someone distracted me on the last one plus the whole way through I wasn't sure if I was going to get 5 different images or 5 guesses at the same one.

Guess 125- answer 102

I always thought being an autistic savant means an autistic person who can barely take care of themselves who has an extreme talent? Such as a world class painter, muscian, or extremely good at mathematics.

I am actually being tested for a math learning disorder and one of the things I suck at is eyeballing things, so I was very surprised that I did pretty well, especially since I mostly just typed in random numbers

Wow, I actually got 3 of them within 2 digits of correctness and the others within twenty. I'm really surprised actually, and I have no idea what told me the answer. Just natural instinct, I guess.

1/5 exactly correct. Meh. Luck.

I can't recognize amounts above about 10, but below that it tends to be pretty easy. Around 6 I'll get it right every time. The average person can do 4. With long exposure to numbers in school, it makes sense I'd be a little better at it than average.

I guess i could teach myself to recognize amounts larger than ten, but what use would that be? I practically never need to recognize amounts that high. If I can see five or six without counting, I'm cool with that.

I've just done it twice and the last one I got within 1 on both. Pretty sure that's a coincidence though as I did worse the second time than the first, and looking back in the thread it appears that I'm "not as good" as when I tried in 2011 :P

I did the test a couple of times to find an average and rule out dumb luck.

Closest: 2 off
Furthest: 35 off.
Average: 15 to 20 off.

I'm actually quite good at this comparatively.

I got 2 /5 (within 5) which surprised me because I have only basic maths skills.
I put it down to practise supervising too many kids birthday parties.
