My own diagnosis prompted me to focus my final year project (BSc Psychology) on Asperger's Syndrome and I am investigating the preference for local and/or global visual processing in relation to autistic behavioural traits.

The study takes about 30 minutes to complete and you can win a £20 and £10 voucher for Amazon (or the equivalent in € or $) !
There are no requirements or restrictions so everyone can take part. (You need to have Java enabled in your browser, though)

Just click the link below to get to the survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2FLQXJN
(I know that most people here have already done the diagnostic questionnaires - more than once, probably - but for statistical and methodological reasons I have to collect the results myself.)

I'd also be grateful, if you could share or forward my request.
The more the merrier - and more accurate!

I am happy to read (constructive) criticism and ideas, too. Either here, by PM or the e-mail address in the survey (de)briefing.

Thank you for your support! :)

Q5. About being diagnosed with something. This question should allow multiple answers.

It might be valuable to give your results at the end of the test somehow. People like results.

Also, you should either include other ASDs as other options, or change your Asperger's options to refer to the entire spectrum.

Thank you for the feedback!

Actually it was supposed to count more than one answer for the diagnosis question, I'm sorry that it doesn't work that way.
I'll try to correct that.
I'll also add an option for other ASD.

If someone felt left out due to these failings, they will be able to re-do the updated study in about 12 hours (I have to wait for the IT department of my university)

Also, unfortunately, it's technically not possible to display the results of the tests - except the reaction timed one. But I can, of course, e-mail the finished study if someone is interested. :)

I finished all of the questions and then my browser crashed and I couldn't be bothered with doing them again tonight. I might try again tomorrow and will edit this post after I've given it a full try.

What is it with these shapes at the end? seems a bit...arbitrary?

I know it does but I didn't create the tests, just the images. The actual patterns of symbol/shape connections and the scoring belong to a test for global and local visual processing.
If you are interested, I can send you the references for it.

i didn't complete the test. whenever there are responses stated in the way that test phrases them, ie "agree - somewhat agree - somewhat disagree - disagree" i find the syntax incorrect and/or confusing. the two "somewhats" should be interchanged.

also, in regards to the question about diagnoses, there should be an option to choose more than one.

perhaps when i'm not in as much of a pedantic state as i currently am, i'll attempt to take the test.

I can understand your issues with the questions, however, I did not write them myself and I cannot change the wording without jeopardising the validity of the tests.
I merely use them and reference the original sources (which I can cite here, if someone is interested)

Thank you for your participation, anyway. :)

(Multiple choice for the diagnoses question, see above.)

I did the test, it asked for my reference number in the box but it hadn't told me it so I just put a "2" in as a random number and it accepted it. Will you be emailing people their results?

The reference number is stated directly above the box in which you are prompted to write it. Just below the reaction time result of the test.

I can email the finished study and I suppose I could email the questionnaire result if I'm given the participant number of the Java-Reaction test.
I am unable to connect the test results with the voucher raffle e-mail at the end - as I stated in the briefing, your questionnaire data is anonymous.

You can also find the questionnaires in multiple forms on the internet. Just search for Autism Quotient, Empathising & Systemising Quotient (EQ SQ).
You will have to do them again, but there are pages who give you an instant scoring.

That number didn't show up on my screen (I'm using Firefox) all I had was a Java loading continuously and the only way I could get past the screen was to enter my own number.

I know my AQ, SQ & EQ results as I've taken them before and I am diagnosed, I meant the actual picture results (i.e. how I scored in relation to how autistic people usually score). My reference number is "2" so is likely to be the wrong format and easy to locate. I don't need the whole study but thanks for the offer!

How many pages of definitely/slightly agree/disagree questions are there? I'm on the third page and getting a bit worn out.

Same. I didn't get a number. I wrote "I don't know".

Three pages of questionnaires - hence the 20/10 pounds/dollars/euros voucher raffle at the end.

I haven't tried it with firefox personally but I know from a friend who tested it before I had it put online that it worked just fine if the java plugin is correctly enabled. I also tested it with chrome and IE and it worked as well. That's why I included the java warning in the original post. If the reaction time test works, you should also get your result in mean milliseconds and a participant ID.
If it still doesn't work, I have no idea what it could be.

Still, thanks a lot for your participation! I know it's a long test.

I'll try to provide the results of the picture test for those who want to know them but I need the reaction time participant ID because I cannot connect the results with the raffle e-mail address.
