I notice allot of NTs communicate in kinda a none literal almost poetic way that i cant possibly emulate. ( I can barely follow it witch kinda makes me feel unintelligent at times) I was just wondering does anyone know if speaking plain is socially exceptable because i always get this sense of confusion from the recipients when making statements and reply's. even if its just a simple yes to a yes or no question.

I speak plainly, or bluntly, and get in trouble for it all the time. It's gotten to the point where I just remain quiet altogether because somebody can take me the wrong way and get offended. I try my best to be politically correct but it always doesn't work.

they ARE speaking plain, they're just not speaking your first language.

Do NTs read dictionaries? nope, that means their definitions are different than your dictionary.
for all the ppl that wanna scream I'll add -not a lot- different.. NTs may even claim they're defs are the same.
but they're not and you know it.

their definitions are NOT the same.
their phrases have specific meanings and not very complex ones either.
they make up their minds AFTER they say something, about what they "meant" to say depending on what outcome the recipient has.

look for the clues of what they're trying to get as an outcome in the micro-moments AFTER they say something, but before they can see what the other person's 'take on it' is.
thats when they try to tone it or move it - esp with facial expressions.
and an NT's facial expressions are so very, very sloppy.
22% angry
19% scared but faking courage
31% point of all the verbal noise
12% lazy
16% indecipherable

and
Their Figures-of-Speech have very definite meanings but only very, very locally. (3 family members, 6 friends, and one TV show)

THIS is why you don't get it.

get a good body language book too so you stop depending so much on their words which are probably white lies.
