Oh my gosh, @auntblabby you're a lifesaver! (No pun intended)

The pool that is the community pool at my step-grandmother's house has a shallow end that is rather large and is perfect at 3.5 feet deep! I have some goggles, but I have HORRIFIC eyesight (I am just about legally blind without glasses--100% serious) so I dunno how that would work...I wouldn't be able to see more than about two feet in front of me. But I suppose that is sufficient! Summer began about a week and a half ago here, so we can go whenever my parents wanna drive for an hour!

Thank you SO much! I'll try to get (I'm gonna lol when I say this) a boogie board, because we have a 5 Below here and they have them for five bucks. Not bad, eh?

You can buy prescription goggles. Just google "prescription goggles".

sure :) can't get too much nowadays for just 5 bucks. the thing about being in the water, is that it is CALMING. but a bit on the chilly side until one's body gets acclimated to the ambient pool temperature, or one works up a sweat [easy enough to do in the resistance of moving through the water]. there are therapy pools where the water is somewhat warmer but they are smaller.

Swimming is very calming and it's really good exercise. It's good for cardio and strengthens your arm muscles. It's also a good time for daydreaming and pretending to be a mermaid is more fun while swimming. I've had mermaid like characters that I pretend to be over the years too, but not at the moment. I'm referring to your other posts.

I haven't read the responses, but my initial reaction is to be left alone to my own devices. I can't do that as I have bills to pay, but I actually would be relieved with a terminal diagnosis as I would then understand that it is over.

Sorry to be a downer - I am actually positive in real life. I'm just tired is all. :)

Don't we all.

Seems like an impossible want, sadly.

thank you but I think what I said didn't translate well- I was referring to my fiancée and her broken arm.

To understand what it is people see in me that causes them to take a dislike. I can count on one hand the friends I have had through the years; and of them, I have contact with only one.

What is it about my character that people find intolerable or somehow kills relationships. Even my own family didn’t like me.

There isn't really anything I want, aside from occasional advice. I come here to remind myself I'm not the only one. We all need social circles where we can feel like equals and where we can come for support. There is nothing near me that suits this description at the moment. There used to be, but it's not the same anymore and I lack the organization or extra energy right now to be able to organize support groups in person. The group at my university isn't what I'm after, as it's professional-organized and I want more of a peer collective kind of a group.

Executive function, motivation & more energy. I'd take care of the rest myself.

A long term relationship. But I do not think this is not possible it is just the main thing I am worrying about at this point.

I can't define what it is that aspergers is holding me back from. I do think that if it wasn't for aspergers, I would either be a famous novelist, a scientific researcher, a counsellor... or completely normal, with no remarkable traits whatsoever. I don't know whether aspergers has given me gifts, or is keeping me from realising them.
