27, despite difficulties, my self esteem seems pretty good, or narcissism...

Huh... And this is before going on a compulsory self-esteem course... Still if this was asked years ago, I would of scored much lower.

It's only subjective. Others have said that they feel sorry for me for my lack of self-esteem.

Do you ever find that people mistake a realistic assessment of one's weaknesses for poor self-esteem?

I scored 14. It would probably be much higher if I took it during times when I was happier about how my life was going.

7. Not surprised, as my life is a bit unstable right now (about to relocate, etc). The process has brought on a lot of unfamiliar social interactions, and I tend to feel very down on myself after a few of those.

I'm not sure about this test, the questions are very vague. "I can do things as well as most people." I'm not even sure what that means. Anyone on the spectrum would probably have to disagree with that statement, no?

"I certainly feel useless at times." I would think that almost everyone has felt useless on occasion. I am inclined to believe anyone who says otherwise isn't being honest (but that is the societal expectation, I suppose, to not be a "downer" with such comments about oneself). On the other hand, maybe my emotional reaction to not being perfect at everything is just stronger than that of most people.

All of the time, especially in my youth. For example, saying "I can't throw a lateral pass more than 20 yards" was perceived by my uber-macho construction-worker relatives as "I'm no good at anything poor poor me!". So instead of teaching me how to throw that damn football, they told me I was a loser and that I'd never amount to anything.

Stupid drunks ... now they're all dead, and I'm living well in California on an engineer's salary.

I got 10. I blame a lot of my self esteem issues on my General Anxiety Disorder and my weight obsessed father.

I received a score of 14, just below the normal score of 15 or higher. Overall, I feel fairly good about myself, but since there are areas I am not up to the standards I would like to be (want to be more assertive and sure of myself). I can be competent and assertive in most situations, but sometimes at work I feel so socially wrong and even feel have social phobia. If I could get over that dilemma I would have it made it seems.

I think The test is broken, at least on phones. It gives me score 0 that can't be right. That would mean I'm broken hmm.

17. Which, is good! I've certainly become more comfortable in my own skin over the years.
