Does anyone know if it is possible to get SSI while in college? Some say apply some say don't.

not sure what SSI is...

but as a TA... i know that every term, we have a subset of students whom are allowed to take the exams/quizzes in a different room and are given longer times to complete the tests.

i know there is help for students who need it... just not sure how to get it

It looks like it. It appears that you have to fill out a plan saying this is the goal you want to achieve by going to school while you collect. It has rules you must follow to complete a plan and submit for approval. Here is the link on the Social Security site. SSI Plan to reach your goals Hope that helped!
