My mailbox is the 2nd mailbox. A couple weeks ago or so, I began to think my mailbox was the 1st mailbox for some reason, the confabulation. I wondered why my key wouldn't work and was not happy about the possibility about having to pay for its replacement. A week ago, the 1st mailbox became smashed by a vehicle so that its back door was open; I could see mail wasn't being delivered, so I figured I gotta go to the post office. While grocery shopping this evening, I ran into my landlady and I brought up the smashed mailbox and how I haven't been able to get my mail. She then told me my mailbox was the 2nd mailbox.
At this point, I was very confused. Surely, my mailbox was the 1st mailbox, that had been smashed, because I had always been able to get my mail out of there! She said we would discuss it tomorrow.
Upon arriving home, I checked the 2nd mailbox and saw indeed that it was mine!
What the heck went wrong?
