I consider myself ASD but no official diagnosis. Although I've been told by a psychologist that he would be very surprised if I could come out of an official eval without an ASD(Aspergers) diagnosis. This was the autism specialist at BYU.
[b]However[\b] I have 3 kids who have an official ASD diagnosis. (2 of the Aspie persuasion and 1 PDD(nos). )
One more of our kids seems very ASD in many areas as well, but he's never had a diagnosis -- he seems better at executive function than the rest of us, and is able to get by without help (good grades, no meltdowns, etc.) -- we've never pursued an evaluation for him.
Then we have a younger one, who, as far as we know is NT but who knows what the future will hold.
I feel like reading this forum helps for our whole family.
