On one forum I'm on there is "what did you eat today?" (I think there is one here too).
Now when it comes to breakfast, it is almost always Cheerios.
For lunch, it's whatever the cafeteria is serving (but have the monthly menu so I know what to expect)
Dinner is usually the typical variety of American dinners. It can be traditional like chicken, potatoes and
green beans, or it can be Chinese food at a restaurant. My only stipulation is that I know what to expect
as far ahead of time as possible. If someone springs a surprise meal on me, I'm often unable to eat it.

So just wondering how it is for everyone else. Same meal each day at a certain time, or variety etc?

Growing up I HATED eating at my friends houses because I had such a limited diet. I never outgrew that feeling of hating eating at other peoples houses. I still have a limited diet of certain foods that I'll eat and limited restaurants I'll eat at. As you can imagine, it's difficult for me to travel because of that. I hate trying new foods and I hate trying new restaurants. I don't have a regimen of what I eat on certain days, or eating certain colored foods, or whatever it may be. I just eat whatever I like from my limited food choices that I'm ok with. Lately though, I've been eating an english muffin with butter and peanut butter every morning.

Breakfast and Lunch is quiet similar everyday. So there is some regular variation to it, but not in an big amount. So always certain fruits, but with some variation in it, and so on. Or always a small sandwich, but with other types of branches.

For dinner I am ok, with trying something new from now and then.

Yeah, what she (Soccer22) said. It was always a nightmare growing up and I don't know how I've been able to last 15 years at various jobs with my weird eating habits and fussy eating. Luckily most people are far more accepting than they were in the past. I was always the black sheep at family gatherings and this is probably a good reason why. I'm sure many people think I'm an attention seeking or think I'm special when I literally cannot eat most foods without violently vomiting them up.

I say to most people "would YOU eat out of a garbage can?" That's what it can be like with me.

Yeah I hear that. I will say that there are only a select number of places we eat out at and I always order the same exact thing. During the summer my friend and I went to a Taco Bell around the corner and they always just ring up my order as I stepped up because it was always Meal Deal 3 and they always knew to give me exactly three packets of green sauce. Never had to say a word (or my friend didn't have to say a word for me that is :P)

I don't see myself that way, but I guess I am.

Between keeping weight off and getting in shape, I find it easier to have specific foods I eat every day and do something different as a treat rather than plan a varied menu.

I used to have a very regimented eating pattern just to keep myself eating. Nowadays it is much more chaotic, which is actually a drawback despite the increased variety because I am often either starving or stuffed.

I recommend a multivitamin to those of you with restricted eating patterns. It won't cover all your bases, but it will keep you from the worst of the nutritional deficiency diseases. Analyze your diet, check what's missing, and make sure you're getting a supplement. If you can, add in high-nutrition foods like milk, whole grain, or soups with lots of different vegetables in them. And remember your protein. At one point I only realized I wasn't getting enough protein when I started getting persistent muscle aches, because whenever I exercised my muscles couldn't repair themselves very well. Solved when I added peanut butter to my diet and had a hamburger or chicken burger at the cafeteria once or twice a week.

Same here. I've had a rule my entire adult life that I won't accept a dinner invitation from anyone I don't know very well and know what to expect. I had some bad experiences of being served things I couldn't eat. That embarrasses me and probably offends the host. I've also had experiences where what I intended to be a compliment on the food was interpreted as a criticism, much to my dismay. I find it best to decline any invitation and just avoid those situations entirely.

Restaurants are less bad if I know what sort of one we're going to. At least the waiters aren't offended if I don't eat something.

I have the same thing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. I can handle something different maybe once a week, but otherwise I prefer my favorite familiar things!

When I'm at home I usually eat the same thing for breakfast and same couple of meals for dinner but I like to go out to eat sometimes although I do have specific places I go to and things I eat. Usually I don't eat lunch (three meals a day) , only snacks. The times I eat are definitely not regimented. I've never been able to regulate my schedule in terms of the times I eat, go to sleep and wake up though I've tried many times.

Yep! There are certain foods that make me involuntarily gag if I eat them. As a kid I HATED going to other people's homes to eat and I still do as an adult. The only exception is if they clearly state what we're going to be having in some detail.

It's the same for me almost every day.

8:20 AM - Fruit
11:00 AM - Bread
1:00 PM - Bread
3:00 PM - Fruit
6:00 PM - Dinner (usually mashed potatoes with meat and vegetables)
8:00 PM - Chocolate

It's very reassuring to see that I'm not alone in my fussy eating habits . I knew that Aspies had routines and kinda liked the same meals on a regular basis ....

My narrow diet or 'fussy eating " was one of the main stresses of my recent trip abroad .

I went to the junk food centre of the World ( USA) for two weeks and came back 7 pounds lighter ! !

Only time my eating pattern was ever rigid was when we ate out. It was always the same thing at fast food and buffets and then I started to change that in my teens.

I only eat at 8pm.
I used to eat every day the same, but now I got help to vary in eating,
it is still in progress,
but there are people helping me to establish a plan for eating.
We agreed on, that I will have a Monday-dish, a Tuesday-dish, a Wednesday-dish, a Thursday-dish, a Friday-dish, a Saturday-dish, a Sunday-dish for every week, month,
and the people help me to take care I get all nutrition I need,
I also will have to integrate small in-between meals like fruit and stuff.
At the moment I am in the progress to learn to prepare those meals.

Breakfast is peanut butter on toast. I only feel hungry enough for one slice.

A few hours later or around 11am I'll have a banana.

At 12pm it's either left overs or a poached egg or whatever someone in the house cooks. If I have no idea what to have it's Nutella on bread.

My snack is usually a yogurt or rice cracks with Promite on them.

Dinner is often a chicken wrap or chicken stir fry, or baked beans, or pasta packs or a frozen dinner or if I have enough money, pizza. Dinner has the most variety I guess you can say, but it's all usually the same types of food.

A few hours later I have a tea with two biscuits. Then I may much on chips while I watch TV. In I've been good (haven't over eaten lately) I'll have some chocolate.

Sometimes in the middle of the day when I'm hungry but don't know what to eat I have cereal because I'm not hungry enough to eat it in the morning.

I'm getting a little better at eating a variety of foods. Last time I had pizza I bought it at a different shop.
