For me it really depends. I don't like parties where it's all packed and I only know two or three people. The buzzing in my head will make me want to go mope in the car! But I love parties where everyone there is a friend of mine or at least an acquiantance. I can turn into a real animal. One thing I hate is going to bars alone. Always gotta have a buddy. I guess this ain't a real big difficulty of mine.

Well, here's one thing I hate. Being in a seminar where people take turns talking and it's all about stupid stuff (or they're saying stupid stuff). It'll make me squirm.

I'm doing better in social situations, but I still have a ways to go. Like being less dependent on liquid courage to not be nervous at parties.

Some I like more than others. I absolutely hate wedding receptions and refuse to go to those. The last one I went to was my brother's seven years ago and it was like plucking my eyes out.

I had a dream I was at a party were people were literally standing wall to wall. I had no room to move. A few days later, I went to just such a party. I knew next to nobody there, except for the family who was hosting the party. There was absolutely no room to move.

Sometimes being in social situations is like trying to ride a bicycle on the Autobahn. 8O 8O 8O

Like taking an examination in college for which I have not been given the topic. I tend to fake my way through it, like I would fake my way through essay questions for which I have not studied for. Sometimes I´ll hit the nail on the head and have no idea why, but most of the time its plainly obvious that I have not studied for the "test".

I lost a friend over backing out of attending her wedding. The reasons were largely AS-related, but that was before I knew about AS. I'm the type of person who, when invited to parties by friends, I consider attending to be doing them a personal favor -- and a self-sacrificial one at that. "Normalcy" is the carrot-on-the-stick for why I EVER attend any social gatherings.
