Pity is such an ugly emotion.

I disagree. What is inherently ugly about sympathising with someone in distress, or disadvantaged, and (perhaps) trying to help? I don't understand the stigma attached to giving or being given pity. :? I know that there is a stigma, but it seems to me to come from the way people use, or are believed to be using, pity as a tool, rather than being a fault of the emotion itself.

Nothing. But pity also often has the connotation of looking down on someone. That's the ugly part.

Let's remember that autistic females tend to be slightly more emotional than the males. Also, that meltdowns occur that are intense emotionally for aspies and auties, sometimes partially due to emotional repression and not being in sync with our feelings.

Don't take life so seriously. It isn't permanent!

I do not find people who have autism annoying, I have grown up around autism, my 17 month older sister has autism, her name is Sarah, she was completely fine until she hit the age of 2, she was advanced in everything, she was able to talk, walk and point out different things, she was also capable of saying her alphabet, but when she turned 2 she completely shut down, she could no longer talk, and my mom had to carry her around everywhere, It wasnt until I turned 3 and she was nearing 5 when she started gaining the ability to speak again, the only reason for that is she was mimicing sounds that I was making. She was diagnosed with Autism when she was 5 years old, 11 years later the government still has not given her the help she needs.

For me it more depends on someone's personality rather than whether or not they have ASD. I get on quite well with some autistic people, but I want to rip the heads off others. :?
