too aspie for wrongplanet?
Am I the only one here who feels *too* aspie for wrongplanet? It seems to me that the moderators on here are afraid of aspies who are too indulged in their aspieness... whenever someone mentions something that is too far off what NT's call political correctness they shut down the post and replies.
What's the point of a discussion board if people can't talk about what's on their minds? How are we ever going to help other aspies or at least give them the relief of pouring their hearts out to the rest of us?
How can we help the problems aspies are having out there, if the most affected aspies don't have a chance to talk?
it should realy be "the online resource and community for people with autism and asperger who are willing and ready to act like NT's"
anyone else have a thought on that?
To be honest, I don't actually see it.
While no moderator is perfect, the ones here are certainly a lot better than some others I've seen from time to time. If you gave some examples we'd be able to see this more clearly - it could be that the post could be perceived as insulting or offensive to some people.
Starting a League match, so this is getting cut short.

You kind of contradict yourself when you say "why can't we talk about what's on our minds?" when you argue with what peoples thoughts are on their minds.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, as much as you are.
The discussion you're referring to was clearly closed down as it was going to downward spiral very quickly. This was nothing to do with you, but there were some insults in the thread from some repliers, which weren't exactly helpful.
Political debates never end well. You are not "too Aspie" for WP. You do have to remember there are general rules here, and the rules are not bent, just because one is higher on the spectrum and one isn't. Someone with Aspergers is probably going to have a different opinion to a NT, therefore rules are set, so there is a middle man.

I'm referring to several posts i've seen that have been shut down.. they weren't all about insults. I don't like bullying and I can't help to call it when I see it. Maybe freedom of speech is more of an American ideal... I can understand that others don't agree with letting people say what's on their minds if it's not accepted by the majority. It seems to me that most people feel it's ok for the masses to shut down the individual if they don't agree with him. But I think at the end of the day, we a pay for that. If everyone forced everyone else to agree on the same issues then this would become a very boring and sedentary world... or maybe more of a fascist word?
Ha if I had their jobs, I'd be so sick of people causing trouble I'd be banning them left and right (I'm actually appreciative that they haven't banned me - not that I try to cause trouble, but we all as you say have our social skill problems here). I think they're patient and pretty good at what they do. They seem to place a high quality on actual communication. If it's just ranting or people arguing and not listening to each other, that seems to be what they don't like. I always read the moderator thread and check out the problem threads, you can learn a lot that way about why they shut threads down and web etiquette in general.
WrongPlanet is a privately owned site. As such Alex, the site owner has specified a set of rules for members to observe. Members freedom of speech can only go as far as those rules allow. It is not permissible to make racist comments nor is it acceptable to make personal attacks or belittle other members - if you find that too severe a restriction of your free speech then feel free to express your views on another site.
When a thread has gone downhill to the point members are flaming one another, it is a moderators call to lock that thread.
