How many Aspies on here have Aspergers and Schizophrenia or Bipolar? My psychiatrist says its pretty common to have one of those and Aspergers so I was just curious if anyone on here had one of those and Aspergers.

I don´t have either, but my psych. has adviced me to care about my psychological defences, as Aspergers makes you more vulnerable and I have had micro hallucinations a couple of times over the years.

When I was 14, my diagnosis was:

Axis I: Asperger's syndrome
Axis II: Schizotypal personality disorder (schizophrenia-lite, basically)

Now it's:

Axis I: Autism spectrum disorder (mild), Gender dysphoria

It's quite common for people to have both Bi-polar and Aspergers.

I'm pretty sure that the diagnostic criteria specifically rules out the co-existence of schizophrenia and Asperger's syndrome. However I have met some individuals who I'm certain have both, so I think the criteria is wrong.
