Could an otherwise inappropriate gift be OK for an Aspie?

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. My ex's all thought it was a terrible mess. I have yet to find a lady to put up with my hobbies. And this is just a portion of the room, there is much more I am ashamed to admit... :oops:

Sounds like the soldering set is a winner. It's something that he'd like and it's appropriate/presentable at the family dinner.

I still want to give him the box of broken phones/tablets, but we can do that when it's just the two of us. His family already thinks I'm "an odd duck"; I don't need to give them even more reason to think so. Just thinking about it I can already see his mother and aunt smirking and shaking their heads when they see him open up a box of broken phones!

Man, sometimes I am so jealous of male Aspies. People seem to be a lot more critical of women with less-than-ideal social skills. Or maybe it just seems that way to me, who knows?!

Oh wow this mcmelectronics site is perfect! I think I will pass it on to his family and friends too. As someone else in the thread mentioned, there's no point to gifts the person won't use, and I know my boyfriend would definitely appreciate never having to unwrap another box of cologne, wristwatch or tie he'll never wear.

Seriously, a million thanks! :D I would definitely love to pick your brain on how to set up a room like yours in his place. I'm going to get major points for this. Possibly even a proposal (Kidding!) :D
