4 months - music and singing (I didn't start to speak until about 18 months old and sang by going 'huh huh huh' for words and sang songs relevant to situations, like, if it was raining I would sing 'singing in the rain', and if I saw a clock I would sing the Grandfather Clock song)

1 - helicopters
2 - Being 'stuck in the mud'
3 - The snowman
4 - Andy Pandy
5 - Pregnancy and birth
6 - Pingu
7 - special needs, particularly a terminal disorder called 'leukodystrophy'
8 - space and the universe
10 - Titanic/Teletubbies
11 - Down syndrome
12 - Joan of Arc
13 - Autism(!) (But had never heard of Aspergers at this point)
14 - The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy
15 - Aliens and Science Fiction of any kind
16 - Building a device to leave the planet/Baby bottles
17 - Doctor Who
18 - Weezer/Baby pacifiers

Yeah, I'm pretty strange. And through all of that I've also had an interest in needing the toilet, in holding on and in accidents and what people do when they need to go.

To the best of my knowledge my first obsession was, often doing a sing-a-long to the theme music from the cartoon,"Godzilla". That was around 7yrs of age. For me, Godzilla represented something of a Hero of sorts going around taking care of the bad-guys per se.Anyways, there have been other strange interests & hobbies I've been part of over the years which I feel corny for listing so, I'll close with the thought all of the autistic community has his/her own unique qualities which, makes us whom we are, something that would be taking with a good intention. :)

I probably enjoyed books from the day I was born. My mother started reading to me early on in my life. I remember playing with toy cars at about three years old. Horses were the first animals I loved, but cats took over soon afterward. I had a stuffed toy Siamese cat at about five years of age and my favorite book was about a Siamese cat. I have had Siamese cats since 1979.

I'm not sure, but my earliest school report (when I was about 6 or 7) mentions a marked tendency to include dinosaurs in my written work.

My first obsession that I can remember right now was dog breeds when I was 6. I didn't need to know anything else about dogs--I just had to go through the list of breeds and illustrations, like, daily. Although when I was 3-4 I did have a thing for road signs that my grandfather found amusing and helpful.

snakes when I was around 3-4, maybe a little older. I don't remember.
dinosaurs when I was around 3-? I know I was still obsessed with them in third grade (age 9 I think), and maybe a little bit longer.
I know I was more obsessed with dinosaurs, but my mom said I knew almost everything there was to know about snakes when I was three.

And I watched the Wizard of Oz like every day with I was 4. I suppose that would count as an obsession too.

The earliest obsessions I can remember having were for petrol station signs and electricity pylons at the age of 5.

I still love both (there is a Pylon Appreciation Society, after all) though I'm not what I'd class as obsessed with either, these days - just collect pictures off the net here and there...

The earliest thing I remember is cards when I was two. I loved lining up cards.
Other things like signs, rocks, pennies, ect. Rocks and twigs was HUGE for me for a long time.

I still like rocks.

The earliest obsession I can remember is things that plug into each other in general and sound equipment in particular. That was probably when I was 5. When other kids were drawing tree, houses, and dinosaurs, I was drawing system diagrams.

I got obsessed with Star Wars not long after that and I did a lot of Star Wars roll playing with my friends (yes, I used to have friends). Then George Lucas killed it for me with the prequels - DAMN YOU TO HELL, GEORGE LUCAS!! !!

I had an obsession with pipe organs from about 7th grade to 10th grade when I just lost interest for no particular reason.

HAHA YES PLUGS! I did that too, I liked hooking up and unhooking the VCR and Nintendo in one of my houses. In another I'd turn off the power switches at night when everyone was asleep, run around and turn all the lights on and turn the power back on or I wouldn't turn it on and watch everyone get frustrated that the lights wouldn't go on. I'd also line up marbles on chinese checkers and sit infront of fans all the time "aaah-ing" at them.
